Pipeline Ploughs
Over the last 30 years, IHC EB engineers have developed ploughs and backfill ploughs to allow the burial of pipelines in a wide range of seabed conditions.
IHC EB's extensive experience has been applied to the upgrade and modification of existing ploughs as well as the design and manufacture of the world leading Sea Titan systems.
Recent deliveries include Saipem's PL3 Plough and BPL3 Backfill Plough. These can bury and backfill product to a depth of 2.5m in water up to 1,000m deep. Designed to handle up to 1.55m diameter pipelines, the ploughs will be used across the globe for the burial of main pipeline trunk routes, and have already completed a project in the Baltic Sea. Their designs follow a trend of ploughs being specified for ever larger pipe diameters in line with ever more challenging project requirements.
